Services & Benefits to Members
The NSSA is committed to ensuring that its members have timely access to news and information on key industry issues. Members immediately gain access to the exclusive members’ only section of their web site where they can download newsletters, meeting minutes, technical standards, training notes, procedure documents, standard forms and promotional materials.
Regular meetings and training sessions offer members the opportunity to mix with colleges to discuss industry matters, undertake training and participate in promoting our association.
Assistance in setting up and maintaining quality control procedures.
Ongoing development of Security Product Manufacturing Manual to promote efficient and quantifiable improvements in manufacturing techniques.
Ongoing development of Product Installation Manuals to ensure that products manufactured to Australian Standards are installed to the relevant Australian Standard
To influence the Australian Standards relating to our industry such that they reflect the requirements of our industry, our customers and the community
To disseminate information about changes to Australian Standards and governmental regulatory changes affecting our industry.
Members need not need to personally continue to follow up on all industry happenings and technical standards changes, as the association will keep you abreast of these and other issues, through their communications.
To lobby suppliers to develop new products to meet the changing requirements of our industry and our marketplace.
The NSSA’s association with the Gateway TAFE campus allows members to participate within and receive feedback from a leading security industry training centre. Members are invited to participate in the formation of the nations first security screen industry apprenticeship
Members are welcome to visit the Gateway TAFE to perform Door Type Testing using our Test Rig before seeking Australian Standards Accreditation, at very little expense. Educators and students incorporate these industry visits within their syllabus, holding them in high regard as hands on learning experiences.
The NSSA has negotiated scrap metal price agreement on behalf of members. This agreement benefits both members and the association, as it saves members negotiating a scrap price each week, while the NSSA receives a further commission based upon total tonnage. The agreement is based the average monthly LME pricing.
Members are permitted to display the NASA logo in their promotional materials, which sends a strong message of good business practice to prospective clients, helping to differentiate your business from non- member businesses.
