Becoming a member

Operators of barrier screen products businesses and other participants are invited to submit membership applications to the NSSA Secretary. The form can be found below on request. Several types of membership are available.

Types of membership

Provisional membership

Upon acceptance of your application by the association, your business entity may be nominated as of Provisional status.

By accepting Provisional Membership, the member is making a commitment to the NSSA’s Code of Ethics and obligating his business to take the necessary steps, via the assistance of the NSSA to become a Full Member

Full Membership

The following steps must be performed by the Provisional Member to obtain Full Membership status.

1. To maintain a financial membership to the NSSA, and personally commit their business and themselves to the association’s “Code of Ethics”.

2. To attend at least four association meetings or events each year.

3. To undertake training in four key areas:

a. Setting up and maintaining basic quality control procedures.
b. Undertake sales training in differentiated marketing and consumer protection law.
c. Implementing and managing factory systems, and developing manufacturing techniques to enable Australian Standards to be achieved.
d. Adoption of installation guidelines for products manufactured to Australian Standards.

4. To submit 3 successful Type Test Reports of security product, following testing of product using the associations or equivalent test rig that satisfies the relevant Australian Standard.

5. To successfully undergo annual audit. The audit evaluates a members business’s compliance with the training and management systems outlined in the aforementioned steps.
