REAL SECURITY STARTS WITH COMPLIANCE
What Australian Standards mean for you
If you are buying or using security screens, it is important to understand what the Australian Standards for security screens are for.
Australian Standard AS 5039 is the minimum performance requirement for security screens.
A product that is not labelled as compliant with AS 5039, does not meet even the minimum requirements and therefore must not be relied on to provide any form of security or barrier against forced entry.
While many of our NSSA members provide security that is well in excess of the security requirements, there are many dodgy businesses in the wider industry who sell weak imitation screens that claim to be security, barrier or safety products. We call them Impostors.
Don't Risk It. Demand Labelled, Compliant, Security Products.
Look for the AS5039 Compliance Label
If the security screen or security door is not labelled, it's not compliant, it's that simple.
